I leave home today for 3 months for a mixture of work & travel - Singapore, London, Milan, Copenhagen, New York, Manchester. I'm excited and terrified all at the same time. The idea of exploring new pastures is exhilarating, but leaving behind the routine of life & foundations in Melbourne and being constantly on the go scares me a little. The next 3 months will definitely be a wonderful time of reunion with friends & getting refreshed creatively again, but also time off from what has been possibly the most difficult year of my personal life.

2011 was a certainly a year of disorder, but 2012 has been a year of many struggles. I thank God for His faithfulness through it all and the family that He has placed around me - Hau Wei, Peggen, Sue Lynn, Ben, Aijet & Ailing. Words cannot begin to describe my gratefulness for your help during the lowest points.

Last year at Jonas&Sean's workshop, we were given an assignment entitled "I closed my eyes and saw this". The image below is one of the images I took, because I felt it really reflected the year 2011 had been. And as I am packing my bags, I take a glance at the calendar on my wall, only to be reminded of what 2012 was declared to be - a year of becoming. So allow me to leave you something from my season of being in the valley - not to gain pity or sympathy, but to help encourage those of you who might be in the midst of their own valley.

"Consider it pure joy, friends, when troubles come your way, because you know testing of your faith produces perseverance. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it grow, so you become mature and complete, not lacking in anything."
- James 1:2-4 (an adaptation from NIV, NLT & The Message)

If you are interested, I write in detail about my revelation of being in the valley here.
