Jin + Josie. Married at Sun Studios, Sydney.

Jin & Josie wanted a venue that they could make their own. And Sun Studios in Sydney was the perfect blank canvas for their wedding. With the help of the girls at Events by Heidi & Kate here, they combined bits & pieces from home with handmade items of buntings & pom poms to put together a memorable night with family & friends. Check out their feature on Hello May here.

Duncan & Ailsa. Married in Manchester, UK.

It's weddings like this I thank God for the opportunity to do what I do. Besides being able to travel to the other side of the world, Duncan & Ailsa are one of the most personal couples I've met. They invited me into their home in Reading when I arrived in the UK; where we had tea and biscuits in their backyard while basking in the glorious sun. They shared their lives with me. Ailsa spoke about her travels as a kid and mentioned how she really wanted a photo in the attic of the church because that's where she used to play as a kid (her uncle is the priest of the church). Their wedding really reflected who they were; everything had a special meaning to it. Their reception was held at a school hall across the road from the church, where Ailsa's mum made 200 metres worth of bunting, and everything was put together by family and friends. And as the wedding came to an end, Ailsa's little niece came to give me a nice big hug and said a heartfelt goodbye, which made my heart melt. Duncan & Ailsa - thank you for letting me into your lives; for the privilege to spend such a big day with you. Their DIY wedding was featured on Rock My Wedding here. I'm hoping to be back in the London & Europe region in July & August 2013; if you are getting married at that time, do come say hello.
