An autumn family photography session in Flemington, Melbourne, with Terence, Wan Theng and little E.
We photographed this session as they were getting ready to become a family of four — a little record of this season when it was still just the three of them.
Flemington is especially beautiful for family photography in autumn, when the streets and parks soften with changing leaves and warm afternoon light. We kept things simple and let E explore, play and lead the way, which is usually when the most natural photographs happen.
I photographed the entire session on 35mm film, embracing the grain, movement and little imperfections that make film feel so fitting for family photographs.

Flemington is one of my favourite inner-Melbourne areas for relaxed family sessions, particularly through autumn when the trees begin to change. I photograph families in Flemington and throughout nearby Melbourne suburbs, either outdoors or at home, depending on the kind of memories you'd like to preserve.
