Studio Side Kick

For all your studio / project needs

Over the last 20 years, I have managed a successful photography business that has generated consistent 6 figure yearly revenues (with the exception of the Covid lockdown years).
Client management, advertising & SEO, accounting, design work, event planning - I’ve done it all.

As I plan the next stage of my career & life, I’m looking to pivot into a different role outside of photography. I believe I have the skills that can help many small businesses who are looking to expand, cover during a season or simply to add to their team.

FAQ

  • Do you have a Working With Children’s Check?

Yes, I have a valid WCCC till 2029.

  • How does this differ from the norm of school photography?

These images would be more natural and organic - think of it as a snapshot into the day of the life in the school rather than the formal headshots or class photos. Having been a wedding photographer for 20 years, I have the ability to work discreetly and blend in, so as not to disrupt the flow of the classroom.

  • When and where would a school use these images?

These images can be used at your school’s discretion - for social media, school publications, future enrolments or even for sale to the parents for their own keepsake. I know each school varies with policies about children’s photographs being used online so my role is to simply provide the images and I’ll leave each school to iron out the details about the use of images with the parents.

  • Why is there a need for this kind of photography in schools?

In this digital age of smartphones, there are rarely professional images of children captured in an organic, honest way. And as we move into the era of AI, parents have a real desire to see real, authentic images of their children rather than posed ones.

  • What makes you qualified to photograph everyday life in schools?

I’ve been a wedding photographer for close to 20 years now. As a wedding photographer, I’ve learnt to tell stories using images in all kinds of situations but more importantly, I have honed my skill to make people look good during the in between moments. I also love being around children - my mum used to run a preschool and I used to help her out during my teenage years so I’ve been around children all my life. As a family photographer for almost a decade now, many of my clients are amazed at how well I get along with children. You can check out my google reviews here.

  • Will the children’s images be used on your website?

No, my role as a photographer is to provide schools with the images and not for my own portfolio. Any images on my website of children would have been those approved by the school or organisation for public use already.
