Dave & Li. Celebrating 3 years in Hobart, Tasmania.

"Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. There are many things below it, but there are also things above it. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling... Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last; but feelings come and go... But, of course, ceasing to be "in love" need not mean ceasing to love. Love in this second sense — love as distinct from "being in love" — is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by (in Christian marriage) the grace which both partners ask, and receive, from God... "Being in love" first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep the promise. It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it." - Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. It's been 3 years since Dave & Li got married here and 4 years since their engagement shoot in Sydney here. A couple of weeks ago, we decided to take a trip with a couple of friends to explore the island of Tasmania, and do a little shoot there.

Here's to anniversaries - a reminder of the explosion that started it all, and renewed strength in the quieter love.

Hau Wei & Peggen. & Abby.

As Autumn started to bid farewell, we braved the cold and headed to Mount Dandenong in hope of some fog, along with whatever colour remained in the last few days of the season. Hau Wei & Peggen are a couple close to my heart, and the anticipation of baby Abigail arriving was building quickly. She was due in mid June, 4 days after I left for my 10 week trip to London & Singapore, meaning that I wouldn't be around to see her welcomed to this world. Maternity Shoot

It was the 31st of May, before Winter came to seize the day, that little Abigail arrived. As I held her in my arms (nervously I might add), my eyes started to well up, amazed at how tiny and precious she was. It was a reminder of the important things in life. A big congrats to Hau Wei & Peggen; she's absolutely gorgeous. Thank you baby Abby for coming early; I'll see you & your tiny feet in August.
