Gizem and Serhad have been living in Singapore for many years, and for their daughter’s first birthday they wanted to mark the occasion with some family photographs.
We started the session at their home in East Coast, before heading out to the Bougainvillea Garden at East Coast Park.
Gizem was telling me how grateful she was that one of my Singapore trips happened to fall around her daughter’s birthday. She had been searching for a family photographer in Singapore, but hadn’t quite found someone whose work felt right for them.
First birthdays come around so quickly, and I’m always reminded how special it is to photograph families in these early years. The way your little one fits in your arms, their expressions, and all the little interactions between you can change so much in such a short space of time.
These are often the photographs that become even more meaningful with time, and I’m so glad we were able to document this little chapter for them while I was back in Singapore.
